Last night was the GOP Debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin hosted by FOX Business news. Unlike the CNBC debate, actual questions were asked and answered. Questions were mainly on economics or of an economics flavor.

Winner: Ted Cruz/Marco Rubio – They sort of tied, with Cruz pulling out slightly ahead last night. This would be a powerful ticket, folks. They are clearly the best debaters & frankly, either would eviscerate Clinton.

Runner Up: Carly Fiorina – held her own, but came off a bit school marmish and beat  the zero-based budgeting horse too often.

Still In It: Ben Carson /Donald Trump – Carson got a jab at the media, Trump didn’t gain or lose, but was shown up by Rand Paul on the topic of TPP. Best Trump moment was at the very beginning where he rejected the $15 minimum wage hike.  Carson’s answer on the same wage issue could have been so much better; he flailed around a bit before finding balance.

Loser: John Kasich for possible THE most annoying debate performance in history. The only silver lining was he showed his true stripes – no one can have listened to him last night and not recognize him as a progressive.  It was so bad for Kasich, Luntz polling said he hit the lowest debate moment in history. What does that look like?

Candidates who should drop out: Everyone else. It’s time, people.
Rand Paul started to wake up in this one, but got hammered by Rubio and well, we’re 4 debates in now. Too late.
Hey, JEB! It’s time to go man, last night you were wearing a cologne called ‘sheer desperation’.

Biggest moment again went to Ted Cruz when he hit it out of the park on Immigration:

“The Democrats are laughing, because if Republicans join Democrats as the party of amnesty, we will lose. And, you know, I understand that when the mainstream media covers immigration, it doesn’t often see it as an economic issue,” he continued. “But, I can tell you for millions — of Americans at home watching this, it is a very personal economic issue. And, I will say the politics of it will be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande. Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press. “And, I will say for those of us who believe people ‘ought to come to this country legally, and we should enforce the law, we’re tired of being told it’s anti-immigrant. It’s offensive.”

Another big spike for Cruz was when talked about his tax plan — Google went nuts.

Some of Rank Luntz’s focus group video is below.  The focus group reaction for Cruz’s immigration comments at the 3 min mark.

Marco Rubio also had a very good moment and it was early on in the debate – he is strong on Education (38 sec mark).
