WHO IS TEACHING YOUR CHILD?: Wake Forest police investigating nude pictures of students shared via Instagram
WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Search warrants obtained by ABC11 Tuesday show the Wake Forest Police Department is investigating reports of nude pictures of teenage Wake County students being shared on the social media website Instagram.
On Feb. 12, the mother of one of the girls called police to report a nude picture of her 18-year-old daughter being posted on the internet. The woman said the photos were from when the teen was 14 or 15 years old.
The victim said pictures of other teens were posted on the same Instagram account and others. The images include photos of breasts and genitals, along with photos of oral sex.
The search warrants say Wake County School System security personnel were able to identify the teens, both girls and boys, in the pictures as students at Enloe High School, Athens Drive High School, Rolesville High School, Holly Springs High School, Heritage High School, and Middle Creek High School.
Apparently, many students knew about the naked pictures and circulated them on-line.
Based on what ABC11 has uncovered on Twitter, Wake County Schools officials knew about the photos as early as six days ago.
Kids knew. Officials knew. Parents not told. Why am I not surprised?
